Observatório de Ciência Aberta do Brasil (OCABr)

Observatório de Ciência Aberta do Brasil (OCABr) aims to contribute to the enrichment of research evaluation systems, providing data and indicators of the state and advancement of the modus operandi of Open Science (OS) in Brazil. In this seminar, the conception of the platform, the data, and the services available so far will be presented.

About

OCABr is projected as an instance of reference and innovation of the Brazilian research infrastructure and of promotion of the development of the national capacity to do Open Science according to the international state of the art. The perspective is for OCABr to progressively become the main source of information about the state of progress of Open Science in Brazil and thus inform public policies, institutional policies, management of research programs, and the attitudes of scientific societies and associations, graduate programs, researchers, and the interested public.

In particular, OCABr will contribute to the achievement of the eighth commitment “Transparency in Science: new assessment mechanisms for the advancement of Open Science” of the “5th Action Plan within the Open Government Partnership”.

The general objective is to contribute to the progress of Brazilian science in its alignment with OS practices and thus promote greater efficiency, transparency, and cooperation in the conduct, visibility and impact of research through the implementation and operation of the OCABr observatory that will inform public and institutional policies, the different scientific communities, and the interested public about the state of progress of Open Science practices in Brazil.

Doctorate degree in Education in Science from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul and Master in International Relations from the Universidade de Brasília, Brazil. Former Chief of Cabinet, Academic Advisor and Institutional Representative of the Centro Universitário Instituto de Educação Superior de Brasília – IESB. Current member of the Evaluation Committee, representative of the external community of the same institution.

Analyst in Science and Technology of the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico – CNPq since 2011, having operated as Deputy Coordinator of International Actions and Management of International Programs and also Coordinator of Information and International Studies and, currently, Coordinator of Negotiation, Advice and International Studies of the General Coordination of International Cooperation in S&T.

Professor of Public Policies in Education in the Graduate Program in Education at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). Member of the Board of CNPq, representing the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences. Researcher PQ 1A at CNPq. Coordinator of the Study Group on Educational Policy and Teaching Work (GESTRADO/UFMG). Post-doctoral studies at the Institute of Education, University of London (2014), at the Université de Montréal, Canada (2006) and at the Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (2005). PhD in Education from the Universidade de São Paulo (1999), Master in Education (1992) and Bachelor in Social Sciences (1986) from UFMG.

President of the Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Educação (ANPEd) between 2009 and 2013. General Coordinator of Rede Latino-americana de Estudos Sobre Trabalho Docente (RedEstrado) between 2003 and 2018. Coordinator of the International Research Networks (IRN/WERA) Education Policies and the Restructuring of the Educational Profession Facing the Challenges of Globalization between 2015 and 2018. Coordinator of the Education Section of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) between 2016 and 2018. Visiting Professor at the Graduate Program in Education of the Universidade Federal da Paraíba between 2019 and 2021.

She has been a visiting professor at several foreign universities in Latin America and Europe. Author and co-author of several books, book chapters and articles in national and foreign journals, she develops studies and research with emphasis on public policy in education and teachers' work in Latin America.

Solange Santos

Solange Santos

She holds a Ph.D. in Information Sciences from the Universidade de São Paulo. She is the Coordinator of Editorial Production and Publishing for the SciELO program. She is a researcher of the CiMetrias group, a member of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) Advisory Board, and a member of the DIAMAS-CRAFT-OA Advisory Board.

Roberta Takenaka

Roberta Takenaka

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de São Carlos, specialist in Marketing from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing and specialist in Data Science and Analysis from Universidade de São Paulo. She is coordinator of the systems development unit of the SciELO Program.
