Relevance of Nationally Published Quality Journals
June 7, 2023, 13:00 - 14:50 (BRT/UTC-3)
Language: Spanish
One of the added values of the BIBLAT portal is the exhaustive record of the institutional affiliation of the authors included in each document published in a journal, thanks to this, BIBLAT can offer publishers a diagnosis that shows:
- Graphs of collaboration between countries.
- Degree of national, regional or international collaboration of authors.
About
International collaboration in science is a key element for the visibility of scientific journals; it is valued that published contributions transcend the publishing institution itself and the country of origin. Studies on the internationalization of authorship and co-authorship require information contained in the articles, in this sense, indexing systems such as BIBLAT, over more than 10 years of life and more than 40 as individual databases (CLASE and PERIÓDICA), have extracted data from authors and co-authors to disseminate the origin of what is published in Latin America and the Caribbean. Based on this information, the webinar on the occasion of SciELO’s 25th anniversary will present the possibilities of BIBLAT to study the internationality of SciELO journals based on 4 indicators:
– Exogenous authorship rate of a journal divided by country.
– Documents of a journal by institution
– Annual journal documents per institution
– Co-authorship between countries
At the end, a ranking of SciELO journals will be presented based on their collaboration indicators.
