The objective of this seminar is to present the bibliometric indicators provided by Dialnet, as well as to show the procedure for indexing journals from SciELO collections in Dialnet.
About
The bibliometric indicators provided by Dialnet will be presented as well as the presentation of a collective portal to learn about the potential of these indicators in some disciplines compared to those of the large commercial databases. On the other hand, the process of indexing documents from the journals of the SciELO Mexico collection in the Dialnet database will be presented, which represents an important advance in the collaboration between these two open access systems that aims to increase the visibility of the academic research published in these Mexican journals, as well as to provide them with bibliometric information from the set of titles included in Dialnet.

About Antonio Sánchez Pereyra
Deputy Director of Specialized Information Services, General Director of Libraries and Digital Information Services, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
Graduated from the Faculty of Economics and the graduate program of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, UNAM.
He has been a documentary analyst of information specialized in Social Sciences for the Clase database in the Department of Latin American Bibliography of the General Directorate of Libraries since 1993, and was head of that unit during the period 2005-2019. As head of this department he managed the edition of Clase and Periódica (bibliographic databases of Latin American journals), BIBLAT (bibliometric portal), Latindex-Mexico and the SciELO-Mexico virtual library, which was financed by CONACYT.
About Joaquín León
Joaquín León Marín is a librarian at the Universidad de La Rioja and director of the Dialnet Foundation. His professional merits include having been the creator of the Dialnet project, being a recognized promoter of library cooperation in Spain. He is the author of two books and several articles in specialized journals, and has presented papers at various conferences and seminars in the field of documentation.
About Patricia Garrido Villegas
Academic technician at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. From January 2010 to date she is part of the SciELO Mexico editorial team and specialist in bibliometric reporting within the General Directorate of Libraries and Digital Information Services – Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Since 2021 she is directly responsible for the indexing of SciELO Mexico journals in Dialnet. She currently holds a Master’s degree in Data Science from the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, Spain and a Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
