Joanna is the Managing Director of the Directory of Open Access Journals, a unique index of nearly 20,000 diverse open access journals from around the world. She joined DOAJ in 2022 after spending over 25 years in academic library management and leadership roles in the UK and Denmark. Since 2016 she has been an active member of UKSG, a cross-sectoral organisation bringing together academic libraries, publishers and intermediaries, and currently chairs its Board of Trustees.
