aqu\u00ed discutiremos sobre estos retos, c\u00f3mo la plataforma SciELO Libros ha servido como una herramienta para la visibilidad de las publicaciones; y c\u00f3mo generar buenas pr\u00e1cticas entre los editores que tienen al libro como principal medio para distribuir cient\u00edfica se centra con frecuencia en la oportunidad y el impacto de las revistas: la agilidad de dictaminar y publicar textos en pocas semanas, e incluso su versi\u00f3n como preprint, demostraron que fueron actividades cruciales para algunas disciplinas durante la pandemia; adem\u00e1s de contar con una m\u00e9trica s\u00f3lida, que se ha consolidado con los a\u00f1os. \u00bfEs posible considerar los mismos t\u00e9rminos cuando hablamos de libros acad\u00e9micos? El trabajo desarrollado en las \u00e1reas editoriales dedicadas a los libros ha mostrado sus oportunidades as\u00ed como trabajado con sus propios retos, donde el papel del autor \u00fanico, las colecciones, las limitaciones y oportunidades de los libros colectivos, la transformaci\u00f3n de los flujos de trabajo, la distribuci\u00f3n digital y bajo demanda, y ahora, los desaf\u00edos de la ciencia abierta exigen revisar los libros en sus propios par\u00e1metros y destacar sus posibilidades.
