Atuou nesta capacidade no peri\u00f3dico at\u00e9 2008. Salinas foi membro do Comit\u00ea Consultivo da Cole\u00e7\u00e3o SciELO Brasil entre 2002 e 2005, representado a \u00e1rea de Ci\u00eancias Exatas e entre 2009 e 2018, representando o CNPq. Atualmente \u00e9 Editor-Chefe da Revista Brasileira de Ensino de Fisica.<\/p><p>Salinas \u00e9 Engenheiro El\u00e9trico e Bacharel em F\u00edsica pela Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo (1966), mestre em f\u00edsica pela mesma institui\u00e7\u00e3o e Doutor em F\u00edsica pela <em>Carnegie Mellon University<\/em>, Pittsburgh, EUA (1973). Sua \u00e1rea de atua\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 f\u00edsica estat\u00edstica, enfocando principalmente propriedades de modelos estat\u00edsticos para transi\u00e7\u00f5es de fase em sistemas de interesse f\u00edsico. Atualmente, Salinas \u00e9 professor titular aposentado e professor colaborador s\u00eanior no Instituto de F\u00edsica da USP, do qual foi Diretor (1998-2002).<\/p><p>O Prof. Salinas foi agraciado com a Gr\u00e3-Cruz da Ordem Nacional do M\u00e9rito Cient\u00edfico da Presid\u00eancia da Rep\u00fablica (2006); \u00e9 Membro Titular da Academia Brasileira de Ci\u00eancias (1993).<\/p><p>Silvio Salinas publicou cerca de uma centena de artigos cient\u00edficos em peri\u00f3dicos especializados, al\u00e9m de alguns livros e cap\u00edtulos de livros; orientou 28 disserta\u00e7\u00f5es de mestrado e 17 teses de doutorado.
