Na reuni\u00e3o da ABEC de 1966, ele promoveu o encontro entre Abel Packer e Rogerio Meneghini que levou \u00e0 funda\u00e7\u00e3o do SciELO.\u00a0 Foi Editor-Chefe do <em>Brazilian Journal of Chemical and Biological Research<\/em> entre 1980 e 2016, peri\u00f3dico que participou do projeto piloto que criou o modelo SciELO de publica\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p><p>Greene integrou o Comit\u00ea Consultivo do SciELO Brasil entre 2001-2002 (Representando a ABEC), 2004-2007 e 2008-2010 (como Representante da \u00e1rea de Ci\u00eancias Biol\u00f3gicas).<\/p><p>Greene \u00e9 professor titular aposentado da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeir\u00e3o Preto da Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo. Graduado em Qu\u00edmica pelo <em>Amherst College<\/em>, em Massachusetts, EUA (1951-1955), fez o doutorado em Bioqu\u00edmica e Biologia Celular na <em>Rockefeller University<\/em> sob orienta\u00e7\u00e3o de Christophe H.W. Hirs e o vencedor do Pr\u00eamio Nobel de Medicina ou Fisiologia de 1974 George E. Palade.<\/p><p>A convite do Prof. Mauricio Rocha e Silva, Greene veio ao Brasil em 1968 como professor visitante e pesquisador do Departamento de Farmacologia da Faculdade de Medicina da USP em S\u00e3o Paulo, para onde retornaria de 1974-1976, como docente e pesquisador contratado. A partir de 1976, torna-se professor e pesquisador colaborador no Departamento de Bioqu\u00edmica da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeir\u00e3o Preto da USP, e de 1985-2000, Professor Titular.\u00a0 Em 2002, recebeu da Presid\u00eancia da Rep\u00fablica o t\u00edtulo de Comendador da Ordem de M\u00e9rito Cient\u00edfico Nacional.<\/p><p>Greene publicou mais de 130 artigos em peri\u00f3dicos especializados, al\u00e9m de livros, cap\u00edtulos de livros e trabalhos apresentados em congressos.
