height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Virginia Siles Rojas es Licenciada en Bibliotecolog\u00eda y Ciencias de la Informaci\u00f3n de la Universidad de Costa Rica, es Ex-Directora de la Biblioteca Nacional de Salud y Seguridad Social (BINASSS), de la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social y Ex-Coordinadora la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS\/OPS) Costa Rica, pionera en la gesti\u00f3n, coordinaci\u00f3n y puesta en marcha de la red SciELO Costa Rica.<\/p><p>Como directora de BINASSS\/CCSS por m\u00e1s tres d\u00e9cadas, Virginia Siles lider\u00f3 y coordin\u00f3 todos los proyectos y productos de informaci\u00f3n impulsados y desarrollados por BIREME\/OPS, dentro de \u00e9stos cabe destacar que, a partir de 1999, asumi\u00f3 la responsabilidad de la implementaci\u00f3n y desarrollo de la red SciELO Costa Rica, iniciativa promovida en ese momento por BIREME, para dar acceso y visibilidad a la literatura cient\u00edfica generada en Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe.<\/p><p>Gestion\u00f3 y administr\u00f3 recursos a trav\u00e9s de BIREME y OPS, para hacer frente a las necesidades que implicaba el asumir este reto.<\/p><p>\u00a0Aunado a estos esfuerzos, contribuy\u00f3 en la conformaci\u00f3n de una comisi\u00f3n de editores para dar acompa\u00f1amiento en los procesos de capacitaci\u00f3n sobre escritura cient\u00edfica, con el objetivo de lograr un mejoramiento en la calidad de sus publicaciones y por ende facilitar su inclusi\u00f3n a SciELO.
